How can a Quadtech Programmable AC Source (31005) be used with the AC Interface?
Voltech have experience with the Pacific Power external source, other sources may be used as long as they comply with specifications contained in the AC Interface User manual VPN 98-072.
The external source preferred is a linear power amplifier with a 0-5Vac input. A fixed external source may also be used.
The most significant issues to consider for the external source are as follows:
1. Up to 600V @10A may be supported by the AC Interface
2. An ESD (External Source Drive) 0-5V interface to an external power amplifier
3. An ESE (External Source Enable) , 5V TTL level active high
4. A frequency response up to 20KHz (per user requirement)
When interfacing to different external source it is important to understand all specification requirement of the AC Interface User Manual. This is attached.
