Product : PM1200Serial Number : 7024 Question : If the Service Manual is not available, can you at least suggest what to look for?
Perhaps with your experience servicing this type of units you could suggest retouching some solder points, reinserting ICs? or could this be a sign of corrupted memory? I know some failure modes are independent of the unit model or type.
The unit still measure correctly, the problem is when trying to switch to a different function in the display, like going from Vrms to Power or current then the unit (sometimes) freezes.

Hi Daniel,
Unfortunately nobody working here has any experience in servicing these units and we no longer have any documentation about how to service them or what the error codes mean. It was over 10 years ago when we last carried out a repair and none of the documentation was ever placed into our electronic archive which means it must have pre-dated 1995. We no longer have any of the paper records. Retouching solder joints and checking socketed devices sounds reasonable, but we are unable to give you any more specific advice. I wish you the best of luck with it!
Best regards,
Tim.
