What are the meaning of measurement and self-test error codes?
Answer:There are two types of error codes that you may see when using an AT3600 or ATi.
1. Measurement Error Codes
When developing a program using the Editor and running a program from the Editor you will see a four digit code 'nnnn' after each test.
These are measurement diagnostic codes and they are described in the user manual.
2. Self-Test Error Codes
All of the circuits of the AT3600 or ATi should be tested periodically by running a self-test. This is done from the front panel of the instrument. Normally the self-test will run for a few minutes and then display 'Pass'. If the self-test stops and displays an error code then there is a fault with the AT and it should be returned to your nearest Voltech service canter for repair. The self-test codes are a number and letter code in the form 'nnx'
Before returning the AT to us check that you have:
a) Removed all fixtures.
b) Removed all connections except for the safety interlock and the power cable.
c) Run the self-test again.
If the self-test still fails, please make a note of the AT's serial number, firmware revision (shown during switch-on), and the error codes.
Then contact Voltech with this information for service
The following table gives the error codes that can appear when using the run facility in the Editor or when viewing on-line results with the Server. These error codes can give specific help in modifying the test program, depending on the tests used.
The error code is a 16-bit binary code, which is shown in hexadecimal notation in the table below. The error codes indicate one single bit of the 16-bit code, and therefore one or more errors could occur at the same time, which will be shown as a full, 4-digit hexadecimal code. For example, if a voltage over-range (xxx1) and a current over-range (xxx2) have occurred at the same time during test, then the error code is*0003* (i.e., both bits 0 and 1 set in the 16 bit binary error code).
If a test has failed due to an interrupt, then an additional code is attached to bits 12-15 of the error code as the table details further.
