Why does leakage current rise significantly when the AC Interface output is connected?
There are isolation relays in the AC interface which should have high isolation when the AC interface is not being used to run X tests.
If leakage current increases with increasing Hipot voltage this indicates that the AC Interface output relay isolation has reduced to an unacceptable level.
A Hi-Pot test is performed on the AC Interface during a verification test at Voltech service and this will identify whether the AC Interface isolation has degraded.
If the AC Interface is suspected it should be returned to a Voltech service center for verification testing. Note: the AC Interface module is not serviceable, if a fault is found a new replacement will be required.
