Is it possible to determine the reactance of a transformer?
The AT measures complex impedance using harmonic analysis, this contains reactance and resistance of the component.
Perfect resistors possess resistance, but not reactance. Perfect inductors and perfect capacitors possess reactance but no resistance. Most components possess impedance where the reactance is either inductive or capacitive and may include some resistance.
The test for impedance is “Z”, there is also an Impedance Phase Angle called “ANGL”. Tests are also available to include DC bias.
Complex impedance means that all elements are measured, this including Capacitive reactance and Inductive reactance.
