6.1 Introduction to Front Panel Operation
6.1.1 The At Series Front Panel
The front panel of the AT Series testers is designed with a membrane type
keyboard and liquid crystal display. The main features are as follows:
Liquid Crystal Display |
The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is a graphics panel
that is normally organised as four lines of text. It is used both to
display test results, and to provide prompts for data entry within
the menu structure. |
RUN Indicator |
The RUN indicator is a yellow LED. This is illuminated when the
tester is busy, for example when running a test program. |
PASS Indicator |
The PASS indicator is a green LED. This is illuminated after
running a test program, when the result is ‘Pass’. |
FAIL Indicator |
The FAIL indicator is a red LED. This is illuminated after running
a test program, when the result is ‘Fail’. |
Alpha-numeric Keypad |
The alpha-numeric keypad allows you to enter text data such as the
part number (i.e. test program name) of the transformer to be
tested. |
Backspace Key |
The ‘Backspace’ key allows you to correct typing errors during
data entry |
Soft-Keys |
The four ‘soft-keys’ adjacent to the LCD are provided for
functions which vary with different aspects of the tester’s
operation. The function for each soft-key at any given time is shown
in the text boxes at the right hand side of the LCD. |
Note: The only characters that the tester will accept either via the
front panel or remotely are those shown on the keypad above. All alpha
characters are upper case.
