AC Interface Fixture

Extends the range of wound components that may be tested by the AT3600 by allowing a variety of third-party AC sources to provide the test signal.

The AC interface is a versatile accessory for the AT3600 transformer tester, designed to integrate either a step-up transformer (as shown) or an exte4rnal AC source when voltage and power levels needed for transformer testing are beyond the capacity of the AT3600’s internal generator. The interface fits directly into the extended fixture bay of the AT3600 and provides all the necessary connection terminal’s, control circuits, safety switching and digital communication required to bring power transformers into the AT testing environment

FEATURES

Extends the range of wound components that may be tested by the AT3600 by allowing a variety of third-party AC sources to provide the test signal.
Can be used with external sources that provide up to 600Vs at 10A, 20Hz to 1MHz for testing higher-power transformers.
Automatically controls the AC source to optimize test speed and enhance operator safety.
Isolates the AT3600 from the external source, when the external source is not being used, preventing damage to the source during high-voltage testing.

Safety light curtain and Interlock Cable

Note: A safety system is recommended when doing high voltage testing such as: Magnetizing Current, Open Circuit Voltage, Insulation Resistance, Hi-Pot (DC), Wattage, Hi-Pot (AC) or Surge Stress Test.

SAFETY LIGHT CURTAIN

This convenient safety system is designed to protect operators and minimize fatigue.

For optimum safety, ease of use, and test speed, Voltech recommends the use of safety light curtain with the AT3600. This provides a ‘light curtain’ of infrared beams positioned in front of the tester, Once the operator has placed a transformer on the test fixture, and removed his or her hand, the light curtain can signal that the situation is safe within a few tens of milliseconds. However, if the operator tries to touch the transformer during program execution, the safety system will open the safety interlocks, so that the tests with dangerously high voltages will not be run.

The light curtain we recommend for our At3600 is the Banner Engineering ‘Micro-Screen’

We’ve put together a collection of useful probes and connectors, which will provide you with fixture connectivity under almost any circumstance.

This package is ideal for testing a wide range of component types. These leads can be used when testing low volume and/or high mix transformers with flying leads or non-standard connections

FLYING LEAD CONNECTION POST (78-026)

Easy to use when testing components with flying leads.

Wire can be easily threaded through the post and then pushed down into socket to make connection.

Used to connect loose transformer wires up to the 4mm safety sockets of the 91-186 Universal fixture Plate.

AT NON KELVIN GRABBER KIT (78-027)

Non-Kelvin grabber allows quick connection from the pin of your wound component to the 4mm safety sockets of the 91-186 Universal Fixture Plate.

The non Kelvin grabber clip can be used with ease when testing components with flying leads and/or non-standard connections. Can easily clip onto wire with the spring loaded clip end for a firm connection.

Kelvin crocodile clip allows quick connection from the pin of your wound component to the 4mm safety sockets of the 91-186 Universal Fixture Plate.

Used to connect the output terminals on the DC 1000 to the component under test. For measuring Inductance with dc bias using a Voltect AT3600, ATi, or any LCR meter.

The Voltech AT series automatic transformer testers are able to perform a comprehensive series of tests on a wide variety of transformers. Successful testing of any electronic component requires both a good test instrument and an effective electrical connection to the device under test.

The Voltech AT series transformer testers are therefore designed for use in conjunction with a fixture system that provides reliable, easy-to-use and high quality connections to the test component. Test fixtures are not difficult to construct, and good test fixtures will minimize operator fatigue, ensure optimum repeatability, prevent unnecessary rejects and increase throughput of the transformer tester.

This area of the website provides guidance on the selection of test fixtures for a number of different transformer types and package styles.

CUSTOM MADE FIXTURES

Voltech have worked with fixture partner wilco Control Service, based in Massachusetts, USA for Over 10 years.

While Voltech offers many solutions to creating your own test fixture, we do not offer customized featuring.

Wilco Control Services is our recommended global fixture manufacturer, and has the capabilities to create a fully customized fixture solution for your Voltech transformer tester, for all our customers anywhere in the world.

BLANK STARTER FIXTURE

This provides fast adaptation of an existing fixture or socket to allow easy use with your AT series transformer tester.

Simply mount your own transformer socket or fixture and wire it to the pins required

No accessories are required for this fixture (other than your own wiring to connect your fixture to the nodes on the base plate), so if you plan to sue our own socket fixture then your search for the interface fixture to your AT transformer tester ends hare.

Simply add it to your cart, and you will be able to edit the number of fixtures you need.

CUSTOM FIXTURE SYSTEM

This is a complete fixture system for standard pitch thru-hole or SMD transformers.

With a variety of probe and pitch selections, we’ll guide you to your ideal fixture solution.

UNIVERSAL 40-SOCKET FIXTURE

This fixture is a great way to get up and running right out of the box.

The Universal Fixture features forty 4mm safety sockets, one for the power pin and one for the sense pin of every node on your AT series transformer tester.

This is a great choice of you are prototyping. Only testing in small quantities, or are testing transformers with non-standard connections or flying leads.
