Clamp on Current Transformers

A complete range of clamp on and fixed core current transducers designed to extend the measurement range of all Voltech power analyzers up to 3000A rms
Clamp-on type current transformers with a core that opens for connection around cables and bus bars without having to disconnect the circuit. All current transformers are filled with safety sockets for direct connection to any Voltech power analyzer using the standard lead set.

CL100

The CL100’s close tolerance turns ratio and carefully controlled magnetic circuits allow these transformers to achieve an accuracy of better than 1%, and their robust construction provides a high level of isolation and protection from electrical shock.

CL1000

The CL1000 current transformer achieves an accuracy of better than 0.5% at 1000A, and its robust construction provides a high level of isolation and protection against electrical shock

Fixed Core Current Transformers

The CT1000 is a toroidally wound AC current transformer which extends the range of Voltech Power analyzers to 12000A rms.

Close tolerance current ratios provide a measurement accuracy of better than 0.2% making the CT1000 suitable for precision grade measurements.

The CT1000 is housed in a fully insulated, shock-resistant casing with a core aperture which accommodates large diameter cables or rectangular busbars. To minimize the risk of electrical shock, the CT1000 has 4mm safety sockets for the leads which connect it to the power analyzer. In addition, a novel over-voltage protection circuit limits the voltage on the output terminals to 50V peak if the transformer secondary winding is inadvertently open-circuited.

Ballast CT

The Ballast CT is a toroidally wound AC current transformer which extends the range of Voltech power analyzers to 1200A rms.

The Voltech ballast CT simplifies the measurement of output power and tube current in high frequency electronic lighting ballasts.

Designed for lighting applications, this device overcomes problems that are usually found when using conventional or Hall effect CTs. Used in conjunction with Voltech power analyzers, the ballast CT is a free-standing module that provides a convenient and accurate solution to lighting ballast power measurement.

PS1000 Inrush Measuring Switch

The PS1000 solid-state switch controls the turn-on of an AC supply to allow accurate measurement of the inrush current into an AC load. It is designed for use with Voltech power analyzers.

A push-button switch on the PS1000 front panel allows the turn-on point of the AC Supply to be selected as the zero-crossing or peak value of the AC voltage waveform. Trigger point accuracy for supply frequencies in the range 40Hz to 440Hz is automatically maintained by a phase locked loop in the unit. A fully isolated trigger output is provided on a rear panel BNC connector so that other equipment, such as a storage oscilloscope, can be triggered when the PS1000 turns the AC supply on. Self-powered from the AC supply which it controls, the PS1000 connects directly into the load circuit via 4mm safety sockets on its front panel. It is housed in a fully insulated, impact resistant ABC case.

IEC Reference Impedance Network

The Voltech IEC Reference impedance Network is a fully compliant impedance for use when testing single-phase equipment to the IEC61000-3-3 flicker standard.

The network provides the correct total single-phase line and neutral impedance for a system when used with a PM6000 or PM3000, the leads supplied and a 50Hz source with an output impedance of less than 0.010Ω.

PM300 Interfaces

These versatile interfaces allow a PC or other computer to control and take measurements from a PM300 via an RS232 or IEEE488 connection. The RS232 and Printer interface also allows common parallel or serial printers to be connected directly to the PM300 to printing a selection of results.

Computer control is via SCPI type commands that provide a comprehensive suite of control methods over and above those that can be accessed via the front panel.

The interfaces are slot-in cards that fit directly into the opening at the rear of the analyzer. Once fitted and screwed in place, the analyzer will automatically recognize the interface and be ready to work. Only one interface may be fitted to a PM300 at any time.
